It's a Place

Rated "G" by the Author.

It's a place

Upon tranquil meadows and fields of hay
Is a place where everyday troubles go away
Peace and quiet without worry
Far away from our big city hurry
It's a place to rest your mind
No importance is placed on time

So you remember when you leave
The things to truly believe
Is that important things were shared
Some people that care were there
Although you may be apart
You know in your heart
You took the time to rest your mind
With people that love you today

Within a Mother

Rated "G" by the Author.

Within a mother is where it shows
A broken heart where blood still flows
Where tragedy has split apart
The very center of her heart

You and I will never see or can feel
Her extreme magnitude of loss that is real
Feelings we can never have as a man
We console as best we can

Hearing her plea a humbling request
How can you tell her she is blessed
How do you arrange and integrate in the mind
Something that will never change with time

Holding her tight is all I can do
Trying to show as much Love as one she knew
The experience of losing a Loved one
The loss of a son a greater tragedy I know of none

Still it will not help if all of the writing I may compose
Were fresh as spring and sweet as a rose
It will never remove the pain or help to explain
Within a broken heart where blood still flows
If in a mother is where it grows

Empty Chair
by Rick Lobes

Rated "G" by the Author.

I see the seat next to you is taken
Is it filled with someone you love?
Excuse me for asking
But……..
Along with those expressions you have that show
I can’t help but notice the space between you is vast
You see I sat in that chair not long ago.
Next to me was always someone from my past
It seems my relationships never did quite grow
Although the chair next to me was always taken
It was always filled with someone, I’d never know
Please excuse me if I am mistaken
But……..
A little knowledge is all I bestow
As you can see, I sit alone
With me I carry an empty chair, I am willing to share
It’s for times such as these
When I hear with a please, is that chair next to you taken?
